The overall goal of this project is to respond to the needs of 50 conflict affected adolescent girls by helping to dismantle stigmatization and other barriers to advancement and by providing the girls with the tools to regain confidence and self-esteem, making it possible for them to return to school and complete their education or acquire livelihood skills to support themselves and their dependents.

Key Activities of the project:

  • Contributed towards tuition/fees of 25 target secondary school going adolescent girls.
  • Trained 6 out of school adolescent conflict affected girls in vocational, livelihood and entrepreneurship skills.
  • Provided scholastic materials and sanitary pads to 52 adolescent conflict affected girls.
  • Provided additional learning inform of Saturday academy to 25 adolescent conflict affected girls in Secondary school.
  • Provided a startup capital and basic tool kit for girls trained in vocational skills.
  • Run a mobile library by providing a learning kit with essential text books and pass papers aimed at improving performance of the girls.
  • Exposed 25 adolescent conflict affected girls through regional exchange and public speaking competition in Kigali Rwanda.
  • The project has run since 2014 and ended in May 2017
