Overall Objective:
Empowered and protected poor and vulnerable smallholder farmers and their dependents with mechanisms for combating climate change and its impacts through mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning in Zombo, Nebbi and Pakwach Districts.
- Conducted Sensitization meetings with the target smallholder farmers on the negative impacts of climate change on land, soil quality, farming practices and livelihoods.
- Trained climate change mitigation and adaptation facilitators to support smallholder farmers on mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning mechanisms.
- Raised and distributed climate resilient tree and fruit seedlings to target smallholder farmers.
- Purchased and distributed solar lamps and energy saving cook stoves to target smallholder farmers at a subsidized price as mitigation measure.
- Carried out advocacy campaigns/meetings for the integration of renewable energy, clean energy efficiency; and other climate change mitigation measures into Local Government and Lower Local Government’ planning, ordinances and bye-laws respectively.
