Overall Objective:
Empowered and protected women, children, youth and other vulnerable persons capable of demanding for their rights and holding leaders accountable.
- Conducted sensitization on human rights, existing laws, policies on violence against women and girls, children and other vulnerable person’s rights through radio talk shows, participatory forum theatre, policy debate, cinema education and community outreaches.
- Conducted human rights monitoring, documentation and reporting targeting cases of abuses and violations.
- Carried out advocacy on enforcement of laws and policies on human rights protection, promotion and fulfillment by duty bearers.
- Referred and made follow up on cases of human rights abuse and violation with key service providers and duty bearers.
- Created a platform for multi sectorial coordination, networking and constructive engage on issues of Violence against Women and Girls (VAW/Gs);
- Conducted mediation/dialogue sessions on GBV aimed at restoring relationship between and/or among the disagreeing parties.
- Trained and facilitated champions for prevention of VAW/Gs through paralegal services, referral and advocacy campaigns.
